Director's Corner
Since becoming director of the T.E.A.C.H Scholarship Program, I have been continually impressed with the dedication, determination and passion that scholarship recipients have for young people and their families Through our staff—Christina, Shelly and Denise—and the T.E.A.C.H Advisory Committee, I have learned about the Program’s positive impact on child care providers, staff, children and families and the issues that are important to you I’m honored to be working with so many people who view child care not just as a personal passion, but rather as a professional field that requires commitment, education and sound business practices. As you know, child care is continuing to evolve in Minnesota The state is moving toward a well-coordinated system that emphasizes high-quality professional development for providers. We are working with Child Care Resource & Referral agencies across the state, the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the newly established Minnesota Center for Professional development at Metropolitan State University. We are using the T.E.A.C.H Tribune to update you on the progress of this professional development system and the T.E.A.C.H Scholarship Program. We are advocating for you, your business and most importantly for children. Thank you for your continued support of the Minnesota Child Care Resource & Referral Network, the T.E.A.C.H Scholarship Program and the field of child care We look forward to continuing to work with you to achieve your personal and professional goals. Sincerely, Bryan Schachtele
