The CCR&R system is pleased to introduce Building Quality: Making Good Things Better in July!

Building Quality offers new opportunities to child care providers interested in the latest learning available and tools for a changing profession. We’ve created Building Quality to highlight the good work of our community’s child care providers who are committed to offering rich and nurturing care. Building Quality offers a path to any child care provider interested in new learning. Providers are invited to access individualized consultation, grants and training: all tailored preparation for a quality rating and improvement system. Building Quality opportunities begin this July.

  1. The Building Quality Checklist is the centerpiece of Building Quality. Completing the checklist allows child care providers to determine how they are doing in meeting the latest best practices in child care and early learning. Providers will then use the completed checklist to create a plan for building quality. CCR&R services will support child care providers in completing their building quality plan.

  2. Selected providers will receive additional
    in-depth supports
    :

Environment Rating Scale Consultation: Providers will work with a local Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) consultant on this important rating tool

Minnesota Child Care Credential Training: Providers will attend a low-cost training to prepare for a quality rating and the soon-to-be-introduced Minnesota Child Care Credential. Additional optional training will be offered.
Building Quality Grants: New support dollars

Professional Development Advising: Providers will work with their local CCR&R team to plan their professional growth.

Building Quality is tailored to the current, unique needs of Minnesota child care providers. They are individualized to meet providers’ needs. They enhance existing services with tools to prepare child care providers for new opportunities and increased expectations of professionalism.

This is an exciting time for the CCR&R system and we hope that you will consider applying for Building Quality. Please find application materials and the Building Quality Checklist by visiting www.mnchildcare.org (after July 19) or by calling 800-284-3040 (after July 1).
