Children need help to make friends

friendsChildren need to trust the adults in their lives.  When they trust adults, they feel safe with other children.

Help children learn the words for emotions.  When they look angry, say “It looks like you are mad.”  When they are laughing, say “You look really happy.”

Tell them how you are feeling and why.

Help them learn how to solve a problem with a friend.  Read a book about friends with them.

Let them watch you with your friends.
